What we keep, and why.

Mycelial is run by Josh Wolf, doing business as TranquilTech. This page says in plain words what the site stores about you. If anything here is unclear, write to josh@tranquiltech.solutions.

What you give us

• Your sign-in email and password. The password is stored only as a secure hash by our database provider; nobody at Mycelial can read it.
• Your profile: handle, and if you add them, a display name, bio, picture, and a separate email for signal notifications.
• What you post: threads, replies, upvotes, Grove posts, events you create, and the Groves you join or tend.
• RootSignals: who sent one, the optional one-line message, when it was sent, who showed up, and the link to the call room. These are deleted within 24 hours after a room closes; we keep only a count.

What other people can see

Your handle, display name, bio and picture are visible to other people on Mycelial. Posts in public Groves and in The Understory are visible to anyone. Posts in private Groves are visible to that Grove's members. A RootSignal is visible only to the circle you send it to. Your sign-in email is never shown.

RootSignal rooms

A room opens on Zoom when someone responds to a signal. The room closes when the sender ends it or after two hours. Rooms are never recorded. When a room closes, the signal and who answered are deleted within 24 hours. We keep only a count.

Who handles your data for us

• Supabase stores the database and handles sign-in.
• Vercel hosts the site.
• Zoom runs RootSignal call rooms.
• Resend sends signal notification emails, only to people who turned them on, and relays mail sent to our addresses.

We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or run ads. The site uses no advertising or analytics trackers.

Health information

Mycelial is a peer community, not a medical service, and it is not covered by health privacy laws such as HIPAA. Share only what you are comfortable having other members read.

Deleting your account

Write to josh@tranquiltech.solutions from your sign-in email and we will delete your account. That removes your profile, memberships, connections, signals and Understory threads. Grove posts and events you created stay with your name taken off, unless you ask us to delete those too.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and we will say so on the site.
