The exit test
When the Nursery ships in early 2027, we'll hold Mycelial to one test: a Grove could move to another host within a week using only public tools. If that ever stops being true, it's a bug, and we fix it before anything else ships.
How it works
Mycelial is where Groves live: the communities and the gatherings that hold them together. Rings, the groups people choose to join inside a Grove, arrive in early 2027. It is being built on Kindling, an open set of rules about consent and who owns what.
The parts
01
A Grove is a community: its conversations, events, Zoom sessions and the way it governs itself. Garden tenders look after it.
02
Inside a Grove, rings are the lists people choose to be on: the member directory, the stewards, a peer circle of six to eight. Every ring has a charter you read before you say yes, and you can leave any ring at any time.
03
You create your Presence by filling out a profile. Most people use their real name, but a handle is fine too. Your sign-in email is never shown.
04
Any ring can switch on RootSignal, so the people in it can let each other know when they could use company. It's optional, and never a crisis service.
More about RootSignal05
A Grove's rings, records and rules, kept together in open formats. It's what a community takes with it if it leaves.
What we promise
When the Nursery ships in early 2027, we'll hold Mycelial to one test: a Grove could move to another host within a week using only public tools. If that ever stops being true, it's a bug, and we fix it before anything else ships.
No private extensions. No special access. Everything a community owns will be able to leave in open formats.
We haven't set Mycelial's pricing yet. We'll publish it here before anyone is asked to pay.
Where things stand
Mycelial is open by invitation while we finish security work. The Kindling version, with rings and the Nursery, ships in early 2027, built in the open.
Mycelial is a peer community space — not a medical, clinical, or therapeutic service. RootSignal is designed to strengthen community connection; it is not a substitute for emergency mental health intervention. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, please contact emergency services.
